Wearside league

MOST teams are involved in the Wearmouth Charity Cup today and the tie of the round could be that between high-scoring unbeaten pair Coxhoe Athletic and Easington Colliery.

The two teams, however, miss key players. Danny Chapman and Paul Legg are out for Coxhoe although Simon Ord and Gavin Luke are available. Easington can’t call on captain Paul Griffith, Michael Watson or Craig Murray but with a 24-man squad will still field a strong team.

East Durham United manager Michael Hutchinson has a full pool of players to choose from for the home game with Ashbrooke Belford House who miss skipper Kenny Taylor and Lee Harrison. Unbeaten Annfield Plain go to Teesside Athletic minus Chris McGee and Colin Snailham.

Boldon CA manager David Jones has four players banned for the tie with Cleator Moor Celtic while Ryhope CW host New Markse unable to name Mark Swindale or Robbie Dixon.

Harton and Westoe are pleased to have Will Caris, Barry Turton and Paul Coxon in their squad at Wolviston who will be managed by assistant Mark Summersgill for the next eight weeks because Paul Edwards is unavailable.

Summersgill is without Luke Bennington and Stephen Kilpatrick.

Newcomers Newton Aycliffe, who have won both matches scoring nine goals in the process, visit Silksworth Community without Chris McMullen, Paul Stout and Raymond Stanger, who has hung up his boots.

Hartlepool welcome the return from England under-18 schools training of Luke Sullivan and Anthony Davies at Guisborough.

Only two league fixtures are scheduled with pointless Willington at home to table-topping Kirkbymoorside while full strength Jarrow go to Windscale.
