BERWICK Rangers manager Michael Renwick believes Gretna cast-off Fraser McLaren is the type of player he wants next term after his side was relegated after a season in the second division.

The 19-year-old striker, a victim of the Gretna clear-out, was signed 24 hours earlier after Berwick were given clearance by FIFA.

Ian Little put Berwick in front in 52 minutes with a header but Peterhead’s Martin Bavidge levelled on 76 minutes but Bobby Mann put them in front after 83 minutes.

Mann then brought down McLaren in the penalty box and he fired in the equaliser from the penalty spot.
