DESPITE the efforts of the referee, the lads put in a magnificent performance to beat an average Villa side. This was a well-deserved victory and every player in a red and white shirt was a hero for the way in which they battled from the first to the last. A pinpoint ball from Kieran Richardson gave Michael Chopra the opportunity to score. The back four was outstanding with the two centre backs coping well. Credit to the thousands of travelling fans who were tremendous and never stopped singing and urging their team on throughout. The feelings of joy and relief at the end were unbelievable....
