RYHOPE CW’s lead at the top was reduced to a point when Silksworth Community upset the formbook winning with an only goal by Martin Metcalfe midway through the first half.

New Marske are second with four games in hand. They enhanced their title prospects with victory at Coxhoe Athletic courtesy of goals by Dane Brecon, Daniel Wilkinson and Martin Say.

Ashbrooke Belford House could not prevent Hartlepool maintaining their challenge despite scoring through Michael Charlton and David Christie.

David Manson and Carl Anderson both scored twice for Pool who played against 10 men for the last 20 minutes. East Durham United’s revival ended at Windscale whose scorers were Peter O’Donnell, Ted Kirkbride (pen), captain Simon Borrowdale and John Donnelly.

Cleadon SC won in Cumbria. Nicholas Quinn, Stephen Graham (pen) and Nick Morgan earned them the points at Cleator Moor Celtic.

After trailing 3-1, Boldon CA claimed a point in the South Tyneside fixture with Willington for whom Anthony Bussey and David Jeffers (2) scored. Michael Meek was another player to score two with Paul Burrell Boldon’s other marksman.

An only goal in the 77th minute by Paul Griffith was sufficient for Easington Colliery against Whitehaven who are fifth while Harton and Westoe and Wolviston ended goalless.

Annfield Plain reached the final of the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup beating Jarrow 4-2 on penalties. Plain were three up but Jarrow fought back to 3-3 by half time. The home side went 4-3 up but the visitors equalised in stoppage time. Daniel Briggs, Calvin Armstrong, Stephen Kirkbride and Chris Magee struck for Plain with Craig Armstrong (2), Andrew Barclay and Chris Goss on the mark for Jarrow.
