NEWCASTLE Eagles' injury curse has struck again - but ankle victim Fab Flournoy will play through the pain to help their tilt for a new BBL record.
The Eagles have already lost Paul Gause to a calf injury and Joel Madourie to a shoulder problem, and now Flournoy himself is suffering with an ankle knock.
He admits the injury left him less than 100% but, with point guard Gause still touch and go, there is no way he will miss the weekend engagement with Cheshire Jets.
The head coach revealed: “I twisted my ankle quite badly and did not practise at all in the run-up to Glasgow, which was not ideal.
“It played a part in the way the game went – I did not have time to prepare right which was why we shot the ball so horribly during the game.
“I am coming off the worst of it now but I have been in the gym trying to do extra conditioning and fitness work.
“In two weeks, after rehab, rest and icing, I will probably be fine – but it does not help.”
