Gordon Swain gets his reward at Jubilee Lakes

ONLY a handful of anglers have ventured out at Jubilee Lakes, with Gordon Swain taking fish of 5lb 2oz and 4lb and then returning a number of fish, including three lovely browns.

All were caught on Zonkers – not one of Gordon’s favourite patterns, but with a lot of ice around they worked well for him.

Anglers are reminded that the fishery and tackle shop will both be open every day up to and including tomorrow and will then close on December 24, 25 and 26.

The fishery will then be open from December 27 up to and including December 30 and will then close on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

The trial catch and release tickets – currently only available on Sundays – will now be available every day. The fishery is also going to run four-hour tickets, also on a trial basis, throughout the Christmas period and until the end of January.

Chatton has been quieter this week due to the weather, although those anglers who braved the conditions found lures and Bloodworms worked best with the fish lying very deep.

There are two aerators in Chatton Lake which should remain ice-free throughout the winter.

The fishery will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day but will be open all other days from 8.30am until 4pm.
