Sunderland FAC’s second winter league match was a damp ordeal with some pegs underwater. The winner on the day was Colin Bunnett catching several skimmers and a couple of roach on the feeder for 8lb 1oz. Yarm AA’s match on the Tees on Sunday was won by Steve Maitland of Shotton with 12lb 2oz of bream ahead of Derek Reeney with 10lb 14oz and Phil Noble with 9lb 12oz. Elsewhere on the same river at Croft, Thornaby AA’s match was won by Bob Blenkinsop.

SUNDAY: Open Matches are scheduled for The Oaks, Woodlands, Carp Vale and Raker Lake. The Angel holds a match and CADCAC stage a Crofton winter league match. Chester-le-Street AC hold a club match, meeting at the Golf Club overspill car park – 8.15am. Yarm AA contest the ACA Open Match while WACAC contest a Pike Series match on the QEII Lake. The ladies-only “Fishing for Everyone” club have their first ever pike fishing day on Sweethope under the guidance of pike expert Nige Williams. Sunderland FAC fish their Winter Series Round 4 match on Silksworth meeting at 8am.
TUESDAY: The Darlington and County Durham branch of the Pike Anglers Club hold their monthly get together in the Coxhoe CIU club, and WACAC hold their Presentation Night in Concordia Sports Complex, Cramlington.
WEDNESDAY: There are Opens on both Woodlands and The Angel.
THURSDAY: Thursday sees a Midweek Open take place on The Oaks At Sessay.
FRIDAY: There’s an afternoon match on The Angel.
