His comic monologues
Tom lives with his wife Linda and son Adam in Blaydon. He also has two daughters, Bethan and Fiona.
Where do you live?
Blaydon. Our house looks on to the dene. It is so quiet.
What’s your dream house?
My home now.
What’s your favourite part of the North East?
Alnmouth and South Shields beach. The beach at Alnmouth seems to go on forever and I just love the fair and beach at South Shields where I have spent a lot of time over the years.
What is your favourite building in the North East?
The Customs House, South Shields, not least because I have had around a dozen plays and musicals staged there. Once again it holds lots of happy memories.
Best holiday you’ve ever had?
Last year in Cyprus with my wife Linda.
Favourite thing in your home?
My room is my favourite thing in my house because I am surrounded by objects I love: books and music. They may well be all a little untidy but I know where everything is. I have poetry collections and magazines which almost touch the ceiling. And CDs which seem happy lying on top of one another. Plus folders of past projects and future ideas: my room is an extension of me.
If you could have one luxury, what would it be?
More time.
What are you working on at the moment?
A new poetry collection to be published by Red Squirrel, a documentary film
Who or what is the love of your life?
My wife and family, Bethan, Fiona and Adam.
