For most people December involves partying and eating out more than normal. Here are a few more tips on how to cut back on unnecessary calories.
If a meal comes with chips don’t be scared to ask for a salad instead.
When ordering a salad sometimes it is served swimming in oil, ask if you can have the dressing on the side so you can add your own.
Stick to sensible portion sizes, which can be difficult if you’re at a party and it’s a buffet.
Skip the bread that often comes at the start of a meal It is just unnecessary calories.
Try to avoid dishes with cream sauces or that come with or are cooked in a lot of oil. Remember pan-fried, roasted, sautéed or deep fried have been cooked with oil.
If your meal arrives swimming in oil try to soak some of it up with your napkin!
If you are having a desert steer away from the pastries and extra cream helpings. Instead try to stick to fruit salads or sorbets.
SUPER FOOD
Parsnips are high in soluble fibre, which helps lower cholesterol and help keeps blood sugar at a sensible level.
They also are an excellent source from which to get your vitamin C, fibre and folic acid.
