ALCOHOL – CUTTING THE CALORIES
Try alternating alcoholic drinks with water. This saves you piling on calories, helps prevent dehydration and the dreaded hangover
Ask for low-calorie mixers where possible.
A spirit with a low-calorie mixer is about a quarter of the calories of an alcopop drink.
If you enjoy cocktails, stay clear of the ones containing cream, cream liqueurs and coconut milk – they are full of calories.
A pint of lager or cider has about 230 calories whereas a glass of wine or Champagne has around 85.
A shot with a slimline tonic has around 120 calories whereas you can double that if its not slimline.
SUPER FOOD
Keeping with the Christmas theme, sprouts are high in fibre and are also particularly rich in Vitamin C.
They also contain anti-cancer agents and help provide humans with protection against inflammatory diseases like arthritis.
Adding to this, they are high in protein and low in calories.
