Fashionable workwear for ladies

Workwear needn’t be dull and practical. Look the business in everything from skirt suits to dress coats, says Francesca Craggs.
For something a little different, why not opt for a dress coat? Ideal for the office, there are lots of versions on the high street. Wallis has a stylish black version at £50, which would look equally great out of the office.
For those who work in a more relaxed environment, separates are ideal. Team a cute tulip-shaped skirt with cropped cardigans, or tailored fitted trousers with a sharp shirt.
This season’s Kaliko collection has a much trendier edge to it and includes some real gems. Available at House of Fraser the new range has some great wearable separates that will take you from the office to the bar.
Organisation is the key to dressing successfully for the office. Invest in a few key items every season and keep the look fresh by mixing, matching and accessorizing.
Shoe boots are a stylish yet practical alternative to court shoes and look equally good with both trousers and dresses. Complete the look with a smart leather bag.
