Gorgeous actress Scarlett Johansson is the new face of Mango’s Autumn/Winter campaign. Liz Lamb has the details.
SHE’S an A-list star who is known for her enviable curves as well as her acting talents. So, who better than Scarlett Johansson to front a new season campaign for international Spanish fashion brand Mango.
The high street chain has chosen the beautiful actress to front the autumn/winter campaign for her extraordinary personality and talent.
The brand said it had chosen the star because “She embodies the urban, independent and cosmopolitan woman, and is also serene and elegant, yet fun-loving and youthful all at the same time, in keeping with the Mango image.” The actress, who is currently filming Iron Man 2, is just as appreciative of the clothes label, which also has actress and A-lister Penelope Cruz fronting campaigns as well as designing her own clothes for Mango.
Scarlett says: “I got to know the brand while I was travelling though Europe. It has a real presence here. I’ve also seen Penelope’s ads and I’m familiar with the collection she was designing.
“It’s a great company. All of the women that have represented the brand are sexy, feminine and strongly independent. It’s nice to be grouped with them.”
The campaign, shot by renowned photographer Mario Sorrenti, dresses the actress in clothes from the autumn/winter range including leather pencil skirts, leopard print faux fur jackets and a figure-hugging black dress.
For the new season Mango takes inspiration from the 1980s and power dressing. Shoulder lines are accentuated while the silhouette becomes narrower with slim-fit trousers, biker trousers, leggings and pencil skirts.
Fur, knits and imitation leather are combined with sequins, studs and hard zips to create interesting textures while animal prints give the garments an edge. The colour palette combines neutral blacks and greys with hints of cobalt and maroon.
The outcome is a new vision of functional luxury – delicate yet sexy and powerful.
Just like Scarlett!
