IT’S only you who focuses on the fact that your calves may be too big or your belly is enormous – everyone else is looking at the bigger picture.
There are clothes are out there to flatter any shape, regardless if you’ve got 10lbs or 10 stone to lose. The better you feel about yourself now the more motivated you will be to do anything else you want to do in the future
1. Clothes should never just be tents for our bodies. Structure in the shape of clothes will enhance curves and give you a silhouette that’s more flattering.
2. Invest in good underwear. There’s a whole range of control -top tights and knickers that can literally take inches off you. Similarly, a good bra will give even the largest breasted girls a shape that’s sculpted and sleek- essential when wearing more fitted tops
3. Don’t become a victim of sizing! If it feels too tight either try the next size on or don’t buy it. Clothes that are too small never look good. We’re looking for clothes that skim the body rather than cling.
4. Avoid trousers with tapered legs – they will only emphasise hips. Instead look out for straight legged or wide legged pants to balance you out. Pleats and side pockets are also a no-no, instead choose flat- fronted styles that are will not bulk out the tummy or hips.
5. Empire line tops and wrap dresses are extremely flattering whatever your size. They emphasise the bust, cinch in the waist and then drape softly over the tummy and hips. Magic!
