May 12 2008 The Journal
HOW would you like your school to win a share of £15,000?
The Journal and Barclays have £15,000 for schools in the North East region and one of them could be yours!
Tokens for Schools is a promotion that encourages communities, families and friends of the school to work together and collect as many unique tokens as possible. Tokens will be found in The Journal every day, Monday to Saturday, starting from Monday June 2 2008.
To enter Tokens for Schools you must register your school by Thursday, May 22, 2008.
Once your school is entered it’s up to mums, dads, aunties, uncles, teachers and you as a community to collect as many unique tokens as possible.
Schools that collect the most tokens based on “tokens per head” wins. This means that if you are a smaller school, you have just as much chance to win as a large school.
There will be 4 prizes available for each school category: Primary/First, Secondary/Middle/High and Special Needs:
:: 1st Prize - £2,500
:: 2nd Prize - £1,500
:: 3rd Prize - £500
:: 4th Prize - £500
This money can be invested in many exciting and inventive ways, such as textbooks, school trips and sports equipment.
This is a great initiative to get pupils and staff working together to win funds to help make school life better for everyone!
Please nominate a school co-ordinator on the application form, who will be our point of contact in your school. We will send a full starter pack including posters and collection envelopes.
Closing date for schools to register is Thursday, May 22, 2008.
The first tokens will appear in paper from Monday June 2, 2008. They will appear every day until Friday, July 11, 2008.
