This week we roadtest... a Sun Labs fake tan

THERE’S nothing quite like a full-body tan for upping the glam quotient in your life.

Not only do you look and feel better with a tan, but all that golden skin somehow manages to magically knock off half a stone.

And it’s rather a strange phenomenon but with a tan people start remarking on how well you’re looking!

Floaty dresses and skirts and strappy sandals somehow work better with a golden glow too.

Bronzing the sun-free way is the way to go these days and a well-applied spray tan can look just like the real deal.

If you’re heading off on holiday and can’t face baring milk bottle legs on the beach, a spray tan can do wonders for your self-esteem.

So it is I find myself in the sparklingly clean tanning room at Regis beauty salon in Fenwick, Newcastle for a Sun Laboratories spray tan.

Therapist Kat applies two coats using a hand-held spray, my choice being a deeper shade for maximum longevity on holiday.

The solution when first applied had a pleasant enough smell, and the tan developed to a deep and even shade overnight.

Skin had been well exfoliated the day before which always helps the tan to take better, so there were no streaks or dodgy patches.

And most importantly, there was none of that eerie orange glow to skin.

The tan looked completely natural – more two weeks in the Med than 15 minutes in a tanning booth – and skin felt silky soft to the touch.

With careful looking after, including lashings of moisturiser and patting dry after showers, you can expect the tan to last at least a week.
