Summer loving

Sunny days are not a problem for these glam ladies, who look tanned and top-to-toe groomed whatever the weather. They share their summer beauty secrets with Katharine Capocci.

For kickboxing instructor and personal fitness trainer Keri Temple, 30, her body is, in effect, her business.

Tanned and toned, the 5ft 6in blonde-haired skinny Minnie is on the go all day long.

The size ten kickboxing queen from North Shields is fighting fit.

As well as having her own KO Kickboxing business, based at the North Shields Boxing Gym where she teaches classes, she also works as a personal fitness trainer.

Keri has about eight personal training clients on her books at the moment and workouts tend to include a mix of boxing, circuits, Tabata circuits and running.

She also runs kickboxing classes in schools in North Tyneside and between the gym and schools her clients range in age from six years to 60. “I train on average three times a day, six days a week. Sunday is my rest day. So obviously looking good is part of my psyche,” explains Keri.

“Keeping fit is my thing – it’s always been important to me as is looking good, but not a stick insect look!

“A natural healthy glowing look is more me. I couldn’t wear lots of foundation because it would sweat off.”

Living in shorts and T-shirts half her life, Keri likes to have a natural looking spray tan and her tan of choice is Fake Bake.

“It gives me a bit of colour, it looks natural. Especially in summer, wearing shorts and T-shirts, I do like to have a tan. I use Fake Bake instant spray airbrush.

“I have my hair highlighted every six weeks and I have my brows waxed every four weeks.

“I don’t do much with my nails because I wear boxing gloves a lot. But I wear pink nail varnish in the summer and I always have the toenails done.

“I wear pink blusher and I always wear mascara and lipgloss throughout the day.

“I look after my teeth religiously – and I think teeth whitening would be next on my list.

“I do wear false eyelashes if I’m going out for a special occasion.”

Keri, who made it to the last 200 in trials for the recent TV Gladiators show, says: “Being in good shape is important because I like to look good for my clients.”

“I like to be fitter than all of my students so that’s why I train so much. I don’t ever want to be behind a student or personal training client ever.

“ I train alongside every class and every client.”
