Outside summer workout: Week 4
Jun 19 2009 By David Fairlamb
Exercise of the week
Zig Zags- find a flat soft surface and measure 30 - 40 metres. Turn side on and move diagonally for 3 - 4 strides then turn to the other side and do the same until you have completed the distance. Keep your knees bent at all times, your recovery is the walk back to the start..
The strength exercise is for your upper half and arms. Wrap your band round something stable eg railing put one foot in front of the other for stability and keep your stomach tight. Keep your arms in line with your shoulders elbows out to the side and push one arm forward and back before starting the other or do both together. Keep the movements smooth.
Exercise Tip
When using a resistance band make sure you control the movement back to the start of the exercise, try not to relax and let the band take you back.
Super Food
Studies have shown onions to be a cancer fighting food in particular stomach cancer. They contain powerful antioxidants and are a anti - inflammatory, in fact one chemical can help relieve asthma and hay fever by blocking some of the inflammatory responses in the airways. A real cure-all super food.
