This week fitness trainer David Fairlamb continues his weekly workout to help us get into shape.
THIS week is a balance exercise which works the smaller muscles around the bigger ones.
Balance is absolutely crucial throughout life and in practically every sport, from football to tennis to rock climbing. It’s also excellent for skiers, helping strength and balance on the slopes. Changing your centre of gravity to match your moves is the key to efficiency in sport at any level.
Balance exercises can help you avoid falls and broken bones as you age and helps rehabilitation from certain leg injuries by strengthening your legs.
This exercise can be done at any time; eg, washing the dishes or brushing your teeth.
