Review: Admiral Fallow, The Cluny, Newcastle

Admiral Fallow
Admiral Fallow

WHEN Admiral Fallow arrived on stage, the Cluny was packed and quiet, the audience attentive.

The set started with slow songs played with sensitivity and sung with passion.

Singer-songwriter Louis Abbott had the audience gripped while Kevin Brolly’s clarinet – together with Sarah Hayes’s piano, flute and accordion – helped to make the show a cut above the norm.

Apparently Admiral Fallow have played the Cluny a few times and have always enjoyed it.

After this performance it wouldn’t surprise me if next time they are in Newcastle they are filling a much bigger venue.

I was really pleased to have caught them playing this small and intimate space.
