THREE gigs for the price of one with transport thrown in is the offer to Americana fans this evening.
It’s a Jumpin’ Hot Club special, as you might have guessed.
The roots specialists have ways of making their concerts stand out from the crowd and this is a prime example.
On the bill are Pete Molinari & Band, from the UK, and the Curtis Eller Trio and Kim Richey, both from the United States.
It works like this. The Curtis Eller Trio will perform two sets at Cluny 2 in the Ouseburn Valley at 6pm and 7.30pm, as will Kim Richey at the Gateshead Central venue.
A vintage bus will shuttle between the venues so those seeing the Curtis Eller Trio’s first set can then cross the Tyne to catch Kim Richey’s second – and vice versa for the people who start off on the Gateshead side of the river.
Then both audiences will gather together at The Cluny for the headlining Pete Molinari & Band.
Of Molinari, Jumpin’ Hot Club supremos Graham Anderson and Adam Collerton say: “His third album, A Train Bound for Glory, featuring contributions from The Jordinaires and Chris Scruggs, follows the tradition of British musicians taking American music back across the Atlantic.”
Tickets for tonight’s Americana Vintage Bus Trip are £15 from 0191 230 4474.
