ITS name might not sell it to you but Fertilizer, nevertheless, promises to spread the word about the freshest sounds in the music world.
At 8pm tonight, Hall Two of The Sage Gateshead is hosting Fertilizer – Good **** from Poland.
Classed as one of the UK’s leading “boutique” festivals, the current tour presents its latest “discoveries” resulting from its efforts to track down the freshest music discoveries from around the world.
So, tonight’s audiences will get a taste of Poland’s musical – and cinematic – delights, with such acts as modern electro-acoustic jazz ensemble Sing Sing Penelope; underground supergroup Contemporary Noise Sextet, which mixes jazz with cinematic themes; and Jacaszek, blending recorded sound with live acoustic instruments.
And the night will also feature three short Polish films.
