Toyah will be a highlight of summer festival

TOYAH WILCOX is to perform in Bents Park, South Shields, as a highlight of the three-month South Tyneside Summer Festival.
The one-time punk, whose best known numbers include It’s A Mystery and I Want To Be Free, is on stage on July 5 with T’Pau singer Carol Decker and Fame Academy’s Sinead Quinn.
Other festival performers include The Soundpower Orchestra (July 19), Andy Abrahams (July 26) and Bjorn Again (August 2).
There will also be music at the Amphitheatre on Sea Road, including The Original Boomtown Rats (June 13) and a series of Sunday brass band concerts from June 7 to August 30.
All the music is free.
