BEST EVENT NORTHUMBERLAND

WELCOME to day three in our series inviting you to help our judging panel make the right decision in the Best Event categories for the Culture Awards 2008.

Basically, we want your votes and comments at the judging table when it comes to the best events in five sub-regions: Tyneside, Durham, Northumberland, Sunderland and Tees Valley.

Today, we give the three-strong shortlist for Northumberland a chance to shine, which is an appropriate turn of phrase given that two of them are soaked in explosions of light. Blyth in a New Light, which took home the honours at the inaugural Culture Awards 2006, is on the shortlist again, while its mother event, Northumberland Lights has also had the nod.

Making up the trio of finalists is Hexham Book Festival. Here’s some more information to help you make your mind up.
