Guided tour and talk at Belsay attractions

CULTURE Club members have the opportunity to attend a tour with curator Judith King on Thursday, July 2, at 12.30pm at Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens.

Judith is a freelance curator and visual arts consultant who works mainly with English Heritage in the North East.

She has curated five major art, architecture and design exhibitions at Belsay Hall, Northumberland, including Living at Belsay, The Sitooteries, Sitting Pretty, Fashion at Belsay and Picture House.

The special attraction this summer is Lucky Spot, Stella McCartney’s shimmering crystal horse.

At first glance, the horse can seem to be a solid block of crystal but closer examination reveals it to be made of suspended fragments.

Judith will help answer questions as well as talking about how she curates exhibitions.

The talk will last for about an hour. Culture Club members will see the magical crystal horse in the Castle and then proceed to Belsay Hall.

Normal admission costs apply but the tour is free.

Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens are open from 10am-5pm until September 30. Entrance fees are: £6.50 adults; £5.50 concessions; £3.30 children; £16.30 family ticket. Entrance is free to English Heritage members.
