Artist offers an insight into her works

AT a special Culture Club event this week, local artist Amanda Rabey give a talk to members at The Mushroom Works in Newcastle.

At the gallery she gave them an insight into her work, from her artistic influences to the thought process behind each painting.

Amanda, who has worked alongside many famous artists including Paula Rego, trained at the Slade School of Fine Art where she won the Sir Andrew Taylor Prize, The Monnington Prize for Drawing and the Boise Scholarship.

The scholarship enabled her to travel in Brazil for nine months where she studied the conflict between synthetic and natural environments.
