THERE are just a few weeks left to catch the Northern Artists exhibition at Discovery Museum in Newcastle.
In a successful collaboration between the museum and Balman Gallery in Corbridge, the selling exhibition showcasing local artists is proving a big hit with visitors.
Among those featured are John Coatsworth, famed for his bendy bridges; Jim Edwards, who captures colourful seascapes; and photographer Peter Defty whose giclee prints show sky shapes around 26 Tyneside landmarks spelling out a “Geordie Alphapet”.
Visitors can see the exhibition at the museum in Blandford Square until February 24 where they can also enter a competition to win one work in the Geordie Alphabet by correctly identifying the landmark used for its letter G.
The competition can also be view online at www.balmangallery.com and the winner will be notified after the exhibition’s closing date.
