AS an early highlight of the foodie calendar, NE1’s fifth Newcastle Restaurant Week takes place from January 21 to 27.

To celebrate, Culture Club members have the chance to win one of 15 meals for two people at one of three participating restaurants – As You Like it, Café 21 or Dabbawal – to be enjoyed at any time in the next six months and up to the value of £50.

All promise a distinctive and memorable meal in comfortable surroundings.

AS YOU LIKE IT

As You Like It is set over three floors and features four stunning bars and an elegant garden terrace. For Restaurant Week it is offering a mouth-watering array of dishes on its special £10 or £15 per head menus.

The restaurant serves great quality food, simply done, simply served and simply delicious.

Ingredients, sourced from local producers to avoid unnecessary food miles, are used in home-style cooking served in elegant and quirky surroundings.

CAFÉ 21

Terry Laybourne’s award-winning Café 21 group has always been one of the big name favourites in NE1’s Restaurant Week line-up.

Diners can enjoy the delights of Café 21 without blowing their post-Christmas budget.

In the heart of Newcastle’s beautiful Trinity Gardens, Café 21 is a classic modern bistro combining delicious crafted food with chic surroundings and fantastic service. Book in during NE1’s Restaurant Week to enjoy the experience at special prices.

DABBAWAL

Food at Dabbawal Street Food restaurant in Newcastle

The Dabbawal Street Food restaurant has devised a special Restaurant Week menu which combines two courses for only £15.

You will be amazed at the wide choice on the menu which features a dazzling array of Indian dishes.

Dabbawal has combined the craze for street food with premium street-inspired Indian dishes served tapas-style in a relaxed setting.

The restaurant, the first urban street kitchen in Newcastle, is renowned for its new-style Indian food and its reputation and popularity are growing.

NE1’s Newcastle Restaurant weeks were launched two years ago and take place periodically.

They offer seven days of fine dining with the opportunity to try some of the city’s finest restaurants for only £10 or £15 per person – fantastic prices at this time of year for those who have been tightening their belts after Christmas.

The week is expected to attract record numbers of diners as, year on year, the event continues to grow in popularity with the city’s biggest names and some fantastic new venues.
