WHEN you’re hot, you’re hot; when you’re not, you’re Miley Cyrus.

Four years ago, the actor and singer was riding the crest of a wave generated by the Hannah Montana TV franchise and her music career was flourishing.

But her efforts to establish herself as a credible film actress have been less successful, and this continues her transition with a ham-fisted rehash of Miss Congeniality set on a college campus.

Private eye Molly (Cyrus, pictured) works alongside her ex-police officer father to expose adulterers and thieves.

An FBI agent approaches her with a proposition: to pose as a college student so she can befriend a girl whose father is about to testify against the mob.

The film is incredibly poor and should have been consigned to the bottom shelf of the DVD rentals.

The screenwriters evidently haven’t been told how to write a joke or deliver a punchline.
