WHO are the people who make the North East tick? Who are the key decision makers responsible for shaping the future of the region? Who are the leaders in business and commerce driving our economy forward? Who are the key people in culture, politics, sport and the arts?
As The Journal continues to add to its trusted portfolio of Business brands, this new publication aims to identify and profile the most influential people in the North East. 500 of the Most Influential People in the North East features biographies of those individuals who are instrumental in shaping the region.
The 140-page magazine, in association with NRG features a comprehensive listing of 500 names and a description of why those individuals are considered to be so influential.
It will also include a fascinating look at the people who have shaped the North East over the years and examine what it means for a person to be influential.
The list was drawn up by a team of experts drawn from across a variety of sectors in the North East including business, politics, culture, sport and the public sector.
The criteria considered people who:
:: Hold position in companies and organisations with the power, influence or ability to greatly assist others in the North East;
:: Lead companies that, because of their size or what they do, are of great importance to the region;
:: Hold positions of influence in the public sector, religious communities, public office, sport, culture and other important sectors.
The Journal's editor Brian Aitken said: "This promises to be another landmark publication from The Journal that will be a talking point in boardrooms, pubs and restaurants across the North East.
"Leadership and talent attraction are key issues for this region, which means there has never been a better time to look at the individuals who are the most influential in the North East and what it is that makes them tick."
Lorna Moran, founder and chief executive of NRG Group said: "It's just great to be associated with a publication that includes so many clients, friends and appointees amongst its pages."
